Who could believe that I would go back to school after so many years? Yes, I enrolled at the College of Southern Nevada taking up classes in webdesign. Interesting but very, very time consuming. It's detailed work where any ommission or mispunctuation will render your codes ineffective. And once that happens, you have to review line by line the code entries you made.
Someday, I hope to learn how to build and repair computers and I will avail of the BIG discount I enjoy at the College of Southern Nevada.

Friends - Angels In Disguise
We were favored with the presence of long time and new-found friends from Canada. Their visit was a pleasant change in our everyday chore. The friendship started back while in the native land Philippines. After migrating to different destinations half way around the world, the relationship still florishes and much closer than before.

Beautiful New Day
Just as the sun sets at the end of each day, it comes back welcoming us for another lease on life. Waking up after a restful night, I got out of bed and took some pictures as the sun rises. Mother earth is beautiful. With daily routines we have become associated with, unintentionally ignored or shall I say, taken for granted, things that will make us appreciate living.
Early morning pictures as the sun magnificently showers its light to all.

Baja Mexico Visit
A brief sojourn to the south of the border brought us to Baja Mexico. We left early morning of Saturday from Las Vegas on Sept 9 to join the others in Anaheim, California. We boarded a tour bus that took us to Mexico. It was only a 2 hour trip from San Diego border. With several stops along the way, we arrived at the destination resort roughly around 2pm.
The first thing we did upon arrival was enjoy the beach of Sea of Cortez. The weather was a little warm that hovered around 100F.

Wading in the waters greatly diminished the feeling of discomfort from a long trip to the site.

Zion National Park Visit
Leaving Las Vegas around 6:00pm, I started the drive for the first time to Rockville, Utah to visit Zion National Park. When we arrived in Rockville, it was already dark. It was kind of difficult for me. Dark and narrow roads once you get off I-15, I had to drive real slow so I do not miss the turn if I had to. After an hour or so, we arrived at the friends' house, John & Mary Brown, where we stayed overnight. The following morning after a hearty breakfast with some other friends of the church, we drove up to the park. Along the way, we were greeted with scenic mountains engulfing the surroundings. The entrance fee to the park was $25.00. However, Mary Brown, our host and tour guide, presented her year-round pass that moved us in without paying. Knowing I would come back to revisit and possibly see other national parks, I opted to get a lifetime pass which only cost me $10. It was only for seniors, not for everyone.
Together with our host, Mary Brown, and Julie Adams plus her 3 grand daughters, we hiked as far as could go.
The trip was very enjoyable. We left the park after 3 or 4 hours hiking. The kids being weary and tired, we decided to go back to Mary Brown's home. After a quick lunch, we proceeded driving back to Las Vegas arriving around 3pm.

It's been a long time..
It's been a long time since my last post. Sometime in May 2010, I took a picture of myself to compare what I looked like months ago. It was good in the sense that I gained a little weight and continuing to do so.
It was also in May 2010 that Greg Rush was sustained as a bishop of his ward. We were present at that meeting on the 23rd. His daughters were not aware of that until the previous evening before he was presented to the congregation.
Early this month, July 2010, we drove up again to celebrate July 4th week-end with the Smoot and Rush families. Perry, unfortunately, could not come with us because of his pressing web development projects for his clients. Inspite of being officially summer time, the weather was unbelievably nice with temperature only in mid 80s. With grandkids' birthdays coming up soon, they received quite early their presents which would help them with their forthcoming trip to Hawaii in the first half of August. The whole Rush family will be going on vacation before the school begins.
